It’s moot anyways since it’s “sold” but is this even worth trying to restore? It’s basically trashed and I’m sure any parts would have to be imported.
On the other hand, the ad is informative and well written and the seller seems to actually care if it goes to a good home. So what say you?

NP. Maybe it can be restored. Maybe not. But it could be a way someone could learn to wrench, weld, and/or paint on.

That’s hardly trashed. Even if the motor is seized it’s not trashed. Parts are plentiful all over. They made about 4 zillion of these things. Everything is easy to work on, everything is available to make them go faster and they are super fun to ride since you actually get to shift gears as opposed to the boring twist and go plastic scooters everyone rides now. Plus, you can put a 125 CC motor in that frame and you can easily up the output with a new piston. Cruise all day at 40mph while getting about 40 mpgs.
There is something very cool about an old Vespa.

It’s hard to say from the pictures but even if it isn’t worth restoring it’s sure to have some salvageable parts.

To some one who already has the required, knowledge, skills, and parts supply chain. Yes. To you or me? Probably not.

I had a 1966 smallframe Vespa like the one pictured above. The only special tool I needed was a cable puller for the brakes. Everything else was as simple as possible. There is very little to be learned as there are very few parts.

I can believe it’s NP. It doesn’t look that far gone. Who knows what shape the motor is in after sitting for so long, but I don’t think it’s impossible that it could run again without needing replacement. Some wrenching, a new seat (or at least seat cover), and a cleaning, and you might have a fun little runabout for the Island.

Man, I would’ve SO found a way to get that for free...would be a lovely thing to tinker with and get going again!

Clean it up a little and it'd make good wall art for a hipster bar.

Oh yeah, these are very collectable. Worst case scenario, you part it out and sell the titled carcass.

Not seeing any major rust, looks largely complete. Very much worth free. Although, the new owner is likely just going to flip it.

It was always free, you wouldn’t have to find a way

Oh, I know, I mean if it were near me and free I would’ve done everything I could to pick it up! :)
